Free medication reminder limit explained
If Add or Clone stops working after a few medicines, you likely hit the free medication cap. By default that cap is 3 meds.
In-app steps
- Open the Meds list and count active medications you already saved.
- Try Add. If you are at the free max, the app blocks another add until you remove a med or unlock Premium.
- Clone uses the same free check - a clone counts as another medication toward the limit.
- Premium removes the free medication limit so you can keep a longer household list.
- A short trial (default 3 days) can unlock Premium screens such as Intake Journal, Package Status, and Doses - it does not change the paid-only expiration fields.
Limitations
- free_user_max_meds default is 3 and can be changed remotely.
- Import of a large JSON backup may be limited for free users to the free max.
- Ads may appear on free paths at Remote Config frequencies.
Smart Meds Reminder is a medication reminder and log. It is not medical advice and does not replace a qualified clinician or pharmacist.
FAQ
Does cloning a med count toward the free limit?
Yes. Clone opens a copy that still counts as an add against the free medication maximum.
Does the trial remove the 3-med free limit?
Trial unlocks Premium-gated screens (journal, package status, doses) via shouldShowPremiumContent. Unlimited meds is a Premium entitlement path - plan around the free max unless you have Premium.
Can Remote Config change the free max?
Yes. The code default is 3, but the live value can be overridden remotely.
