How to set a medication reminder on Android

You already have times from your label or clinician. This guide shows how to put those times into Smart Meds Reminder so the phone alerts you at dose time - then you can mark Taken or snooze.

In-app steps

  1. Install Smart Meds Reminder from Google Play and open the app. After splash you land on the Meds list.
  2. Tap Add (or the FAB) to open Add medication.
  3. Enter the medicine name. Optionally add form, package quantity, dosage amount from your own label, notes, category, and a photo.
  4. Choose one-time or repeating. For repeating, pick schedule days and times (minutes of day) and the repetition period (for example weekly).
  5. Save. The app stores the med locally and schedules exact alarms for the dose times.
  6. When a reminder fires, use Taken, or snooze +5 or +10 minutes from the notification.

Limitations

Smart Meds Reminder is a medication reminder and log. It is not medical advice and does not replace a qualified clinician or pharmacist.

No. Smart Meds Reminder keeps your list in local Room storage on the device. There is no account signup wall for the med list.

Can I set a reminder 15 minutes before each dose?

No. The app schedules the alert at the dose time you enter. From the notification you can mark Taken or snooze 5 or 10 minutes.

How many medications can I add for free?
